UPDATE: We've confirmed the identities and roles of 9 more key figures affiliated with Musk, bringing our DOGE tracker to a total of 86 staffers.

    Isn't this essentially Doxing?
I take doxxing to be in relation to publishing private information about private individuals. These people are IMO public workers, and information for standard government workers is readily available to the public. When I worked for a state university, my contact information and salary was open for all to see.

Yeah I get that.  Here is my "But".  What are you trying to achieve by posting their information if not to be intimidation?  Abortion doctors names and addresses were put on a list for a reason and it wasn't just because they were public figures.

I'm not thrilled with DOGE but I don't like the smell of this.

I get the uneasiness because of the hostility surrounding doge, but government employee names are publicly available out of transparency. Not knowing who the doge people are and keeping it hidden would be a huge red flag.

Some are volunteers and unpaid consultants. Does that make them public workers?

If their duties are within or pertain to a public/government agency, then yes I imagine they would be, but I am not sure.

That isn't right either.  Whether you agree with the politics or not, putting a persons personal info is done to intimidate and that's being a bully.

Government employees earning a salary paid by tax payers are a matter of public record and are supposed to be public, unless national security prevents it. Even then there is supposed to be secure congressional oversight. What role do DOGE employees occupy, who’s paying their salaries and why shouldn’t their names, title, work contact info and salaries be public?

After months of baseless claims about “extreme levels of fraud” within Social Security, Musk's DOGE has found only 2 likely fraudulent claims out of over 110,000—that makes it a rate of .0018%.

So DOGE found virtually no fraud and made an integral American system less efficient.

Didn't the 45 Admin say that Bannon was leaving. And didn't he persist?

Not even a little bit. If there home addresses and private phone numbers had been published, then it would have been. But all of this information is just what we should all know about government workers, i.e. their professional backgrounds and connections, including possible conflicts of interest.

A DOGE staffer developed an AI tool that hallucinated the size of Veterans Affairs contracts. For example, it concluded that more than a thousand deals were each worth $34 million, when in fact some were for as little as $35,000.

New: At least 38 DOGE members work, or have worked, for one of Elon Musk's companies. Meanwhile, nearly two dozen DOGE officials are making cuts to the same federal agencies that regulate the industries that employed them. https://propub.li/3HC6nbu

Another big victory for DoGE! Let's burn 500 tons of food because USAID was scuttled and we're a bunch of assholes. Good god how sickening. Fuck these people.

Over the coming weeks, the food will be destroyed at a cost of $130,000 to American taxpayers (on top of the $800,000 used to purchase the biscuits), according to current and former federal aid workers I spoke with. One current USAID staffer told me he’d never seen anywhere near this many biscuits trashed over his decades working in American foreign aid. Sometimes food isn’t stored properly in warehouses, or a flood or a terrorist group complicates deliveries; that might result in, at most, a few dozen tons of fortified foods being lost in a given year. But several of the aid workers I spoke with reiterated that they have never before seen the U.S. government simply give up on food that could have been put to good use.

    AltNatParkService adbook post

In June, officials at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) moved a live copy of the Social Security Administration’s Numerical Identification System (NUMIDENT) into a cloud environment “without any independent security or oversight mechanisms in place,” according to a whistle-blower complaint from SSA’s Chief Data Officer, Charles Borges. The move, he warned, “created enormous vulnerabilities” and exposed the personal data of more than 300 million Americans.

The NUMIDENT database is one of the country’s most sensitive repositories, containing not only Social Security numbers but also names, dates and places of birth, addresses, citizenship status, parents’ identifiers, and other highly personal details. Borges stressed that “unauthorized access to the NUMIDENT would be considered catastrophic impact to SSA beneficiaries and SSA programs.”

An internal risk assessment shared with DOGE officials described the project as “very high risk,” noting that developers would have the power to create publicly accessible services, effectively leaving the database open to outside intrusion. Despite those warnings, Borges reported that DOGE-affiliated official Michael Russo simply approved the transfer with a one-word response: “Approved…”

Later, DOGE’s newly installed CIO, Aram Moghaddassi, issued what Borges called a “Provisional Authorization to Operate” for the system, declaring: “I have determined the business need is higher than the security risk associated with this implementation and I accept all risks associated with this implementation and operation.” Borges countered that it was not DOGE assuming the risk, but “the American people who assume the risk” when their most personal data is held in an unsecured cloud.

In his complaint, Borges concluded that the actions amounted to “gross mismanagement, abuse of authority, violation of law, and a substantial and specific threat to public health and safety.”
