Good Covers??

Hey,

My band is playing a show April 30th at a house party, only our second gig, and we're still a cover band essentially (no originals complete). Anyways, just wondering what songs are good crowd pleasers. I ask this, assuming that there are members on the board who have been, or are currently in a band. Any help would be great. Also, my band has put a cap on PJ songs, as we already play Betterman and Do the Evolution, so good tunes by other artists would be great.

Thanks,
-Mitch

  • Roadhouse Blues is an awesome suggestion!

    Here's some more...

Feel Like Makin' Love - Bad Company
We used to cover this, playing the verse normally and then making the pre-chorus and chorus a lot heavier, with an extended solo section.

    Slither - Velvet Revolver

Wicked Game - the H.I.M. version, not Chris Issak
HIM made a cool, heavy rock cover of Wicked Game, which is a lot of fun to play. Plus, the song is easy since it's the same three chord progression for both the verse and chorus.

Here's a couple easy songs my band rips at:
    Holiday- Green Day
    Little Sister- QOTSA
    The Red- Chevelle
    Slither- Velvet Revolver

They're mostly newer songs so the rock crowd will be into it.
