Side of Stage?

I'm looking for opinions on the side of stage seats. I got two for Atlanta night 2 in the fan sale. But, we want to take our 2 sons with us so I'm looking for 4 seats together now. My youngest is a drummer so he might actually enjoy being able to see the kit. However, this may be the only time we get to see the band and my husband and I have been waiting for years for this. Thanks

Great question. I went to six shows last tour but never to the side. Right now I have tix to side of stage for Pittsburgh 2.

Can anyone share experiences or (even better) pics from side of stage? I’m wondering how it is with the large screen behind them.

I love side stage seats - so close to the stage, and a really interesting view. Some do not like them and want a front view even if it’s much further back. Different strokes for different folks.

If you can’t find 4 together could you get two sets of two and have one parent/kid in each pair, such that your drummer son gets the side stage seats.

Good luck with the tickets and enjoy the show!

The screen is viewable, but had less impact.
But they have also toured for 32 years without a screen.

Sat side stage in OKC 2022.  Mike even came over and showered us with picks.  Was a cool perspective.  Wasn't with the new screen setup, but I'd imagine the view would be similar still.

We would prefer to be together, but we may have to split up.

    I love side stage.

    My order of preference is:

    GA PIT
    First row behind PIT
    Side Stage

Side Stage, while a side angle, is pretty close to the stage and you can see everything that is going on.   Back in the 90's really good side stage tickets would often appear day of a concert kind of thing.   Got amazing ones for Pearl Jam Vancouver '98 as a last second ticket buying thing.

    Highly recommend side stage :)

I prefer side stage. Maybe one section over. The downside is that the sound is sometimes not as good as being in front of the stacks. And Eddie will not throw you a tambourine.  ;)
  • I have to go thru a bunch of old files to find the pix I took at MSG over the years from the side stage seats. They used to release "production seats " the night before a show when they realized some seats were not blocked from view by the stage setups usually in the first two rows side stage .. I preferred these seats because you are actually closer than anyone sitting behind the pit.

All pics posted look great because they're side seats close to the stage.

Anyone have pics from the nosebleeds that are also to the side?  That's what I currently have for Pitt 1 lol

Haha thanks.  My seats for Pitt 1 are much worse than this because they basically behind the stage.

This is great to put it in perspective. I’ve got the same section for Pitt 1. I’m hoping the fact that it’s front row might allow a better view under the hanging speakers

Sid stage may be my favorite spot. I've had some very good tickets close to the stag, but side stage beets them all.

You get to see a lot from ther.

Side stage for Moline, second row back. It was awesome, much better than my pictures - I was new to smart phones and didn't know what the hell I was doing.  But it was cool to see the boys come off the stage, and the view of the crowd throughout the show was fun as well.

Baltimore.  I'll take sidestage over most other locations.

I sat about there for the shows at MSG this year. I really liked that Side view. dmbolp said:

I was about that same as that one you Posted^^^ in Chicago and I never felt so disengaged from any concert, let alone a Pearl Jam concert.

Never again, if I can help it.

But the Side Stage in the First Level I'd take in a second as I've sat in that area for a few Concerts. I have a Side Stage ticket for Pittsburgh that I know I will enjoy the show from there.
  • Lower level side stage are kick ass. My preferred seats.
Balcony side stage? Are like any other upper level seat. They suck monkey balls.

Thank you. I think my Pitt 1 seats are comparable. But I’ll try to upgrade if possible.

Had side stage the first time when I was able to get seats a few hours before Fairfax 94. I  was surprised how much better they were than I thought they would be. I would take them any day at face over all uppers and seats much further away in the lowers. Best bargain if you didn't get something in the lottery.

Normally side stage is great. But for the Dark Matter Tour, you don't get the full effect of the videos unless you are straight-on. You'll only see parts of the screens from the side, and some of the visuals really only work best from straight-on. Like, in a hockey arena, your seats would need to be past the red line or far blue line to really see the full screens.
