Pittsburgh May 16: 25th Anniversary of Binaural

Binaural was released May 16, 2000 so Night 1 in Pittsburgh will be the album’s 25-Year Anniversary!

Here’s hoping they do something fun/special to celebrate my favorite Pearl Jam album!

I checked my stats...34 shows for me, 923 songs heard live and only 13 have been Binaural.

Odd that I have never seen NAIS live but I didn't catch the 2000 tour so that's probably why

I wonder how the reaction was in Toronto when they did it.

McGruff is a DMB loving, Sigma Chi alumnus, Even-Bro.  If it wasn't on the radio he doesn't want to hear it.

I hope not.  I'm bringing my 11 year old son to his first PJ show and I can't imagine a worse scenario.  lol

I really like Binaural but to play the full album through would absolutely kill the vast majority of the crowd....and then there would only be like 12 more songs in the concert.

The only ones I haven't heard are Evacuation (probably the worst song in PJ's studio catalog) and Rival (which depresses the shit out of me lol).  But I'll gladly take repeats too.

I loved it in TO 2016, but my wife much less so. Everyone’s tastes are different but I really like Binaural.

That said, the full album shows are neat, but spoil some of the surprise of ‘what comes next’. Furthermore with the new era of slightly shorter set lists, I wonder if the full albums will be a relic of the past.

I wasn't necessarily wishing for the full album. But one or two songs would be nice

If I am only able to get tickets to one show, I am note sure that I want that show to have 50% of the songs from Binaural.

Wish I could get more than 1 binaural song at a show I go to some time before it's all over.  I don't get the dislike for the album.  Almost all of those songs are awesome and never played anymore.

    Agreed. Brilliant album!
  • If you take out Gods Dice/Evacuation and replaced them with Sad/Fatal….thats a hell of an album I don’t care what anyone says, including gruff. Maybe it didn’t hit 20 years ago, but now those songs along with many Riot Act songs have aged well.

Would love to hear more Binaural to commemorate the 25th anniversary.  For the 24th at Vegas 1 this past year, they played Breakerfall and I forget if they even mentioned the album anniversary.  Fingers crossed for a bit more (Rival to complete please and thanks).
