Decided to do something I should have done a long time ago—getting my EV Chicago 2008 poster (it's numbered and signed by both EV and Brad Klausen) framed. Going to self-frame through AmericanFrame because I was really pleased when I used them a long time ago (as in, over a decade ago) for some PJ posters. I went pretty simple with those with black frames and black mattes, but I'm thinking of doing something a little different here since the EV poster itself has a black border, and I'm afraid a black matte would just bleed into it (or look odd if the shades of black don't match).
I don't really have any experience with this, so I'm wondering if there are general guidelines/opinions in terms of what looks best when pairing poster borders/colors with mattes and frames. All opinions are welcome.
Here is the poster I'm framing as reference (picture doesn't have the signatures because it's just a screenshot from expressobeans, not a picture of the actual poster in my possession):

Edit: Here are some matte colors I'm thinking of:

Cool poster. I have one with similar colors signed by Brad (but not Ed). Here is how I framed it. Just make sure to use acid free mats and museum glass with UV protection.walkunafraid said:Decided to do something I should have done a long time ago—getting my EV Chicago 2008 poster (it's numbered and signed by both EV and Brad Klausen) framed. Thanks! That's actually one of the two posters I framed a decade ago. I went with a simple black frame but this looks way cooler!GlowGirl said:

            Congratulations Paul, she’s a beauty!
IMHO the dark matte works better.
I have a signed EV poster (in a tube somewhere in the attic) from one of his first solo tours (Santa Cruz) and some day also hope to get it framed.

Thanks. Most of my posters have a black frame so I wanted to try something different with this one. I like how it came out.walkunafraid said:
