What does seniority within the 10C mean?

I was reading the information on the 2025 tour presale. For reserved seats in the 10club presale it says that seats are assigned to members based on seniority in the club. I was wondering what this means and how seniority is determined? Is it how long you've been a member? Or something else?

Thanks!

  • Seniority is how long that someone has been in the club for. When assigning seats, the 10c will give people that have been in the club longer, the better seats.

    Uninterrupted membership, as well.
If you let it lapse you get a new number

Yes and no. There is a grace period. During this period, I don't believe the member is eligible for tours, but they *can* keep their number.

There's also a one-time "whoops I forgot to renew" and they'll restore the number if you ask very politely.

Ok cool, thanks. Trying to decide if I try my luck for GA tickets, or just participate in the general public sale. Since I'm a relatively new member I'll be sitting pretty far back if I don't get in for GA

I would try for both. The public sale is not going to be that easy to grab tickets. It’s a free for all.

Yup. Freaking 1998 man. I was so mad at myself I didn't rejoin for a while.   I don't even think I HAD a number back then.   I've read thru my old newsletters in recent years and never found a #.   Guess I'm better off not knowing what I lost.

Can we put in for both? I swear I tried to check both boxes and it wouldn’t let me.

You can put in for both the lottery and the presale. They are two separate processes. Just read through the instructions and it will tell you all you need to know to enter.

If you joined in 1998 you were probably around 130k to 180k.  And pretty much a meaningless number from a seniority standpoint now unless halfway back on the sides counts for much.  Sure, not upper deck, but you can breathe easy my friend.

I wish.  I joined in 93, lapsed in 98.  Took me years to want to rejoin.   I had a lot of fucked up shit going on that started in 1998

For the lottery I think you can only pick one option per show. You used to be able to pick both but I think it is only one for this tour. Unless you definitely don’t want GA you should pick GA/Res.

Yeah I remember being able to pick both. I think I had that option for the Philly shows this year… maybe I’m wrong. Don’t remember.

Well with premium in play all those great seats close to the stage are now going to the folks who are willing to pay higher prices or wait till they drop those prices closer to show date! Me being a senior member with a super low # got me the worst seats I’ve had to any PJ show with the lottery for MSG this past September! So to me it only makes sense to try for GA if I want to get close or just pass on these shows which I’m doing, seniority has lost its value IMHO

It's not "all those great seats close to the stage." It's some of them. All of my Ten Club seats last year were great seats, and there were other Ten Club members next to me at every show.

The only show I did was MSG I won reserved but the location of my seats was not what I expected in the past before platinum with my # if I scored reserved seats I’d be in the very 1st box of the stage either side this past September I had section 110 and I felt disconnected from the show it just wasn’t my scene like in the old days and I wasn’t surrounded by 10C members but rather all the corporate folks who just got off work and were more interested in their phones than the show.

Unfortunately, 90 percent of people with smartphones seem to be more interested in their phones than whatever else it is they're doing: seeing a show, driving, talking to the people sitting across from them at a restaurant. I don't think Pearl Jam fan-club members are immune to this disease (except for me, but that's only because I don't have a smartphone).

They used to print your number on the mailing label next to or under your name and address. It's probably 6 digits, between 150,000 - 200,000.  I'm 94/95 and 128xxx.

  • Section 110 in MSG is literally on the side of the stage, Stone side. That wasn't close enough?

I always took it as the highest in seniority drinks from the bowl, washed their beard, then spits in the bowl.

He passes it down the line, then the next highest does the same, and so on & so on...
