I tentatively booked both Doubletree and the Marriot (which is literally right next to the arena).  I'll read a bunch of reviews but can anyone here provide any insight?

Also, I never even been to Pitt.  Any recommendations?!?!  My wife and I typically like bars or speakeasys, dining spots, and anything unique to the local area.

    Thanks!
I stayed in the Marriot back before COVID. I don't remember much about it, which means it was fine. I only remember the shitty hotels (I'm talking to you Doubletree in Camden). The Marriot is an easy downhill walk to a cool downtown area and PNC Park. Too bad there's no baseball that weekend.

I am staying at the Doubletree in Pitt this time because when I booked last night, the Doubletree was less expensive for the 4 night stay. And  for the free cookie.

Just went to DMB couple weeks ago. Here is a pano picture of arena and where we stayed in condo which was down sidewalk across street from arena and same building on corner as Marriott behind red church. Staying here again. Also walkable to downtown area.
Hoping they have better sound than DMB.  I’ve been to a couple other shows at PPG including PJ and don’t remember there being an issue with the sound but the DMB concert was the worst sounding concert I’ve ever been to.

I might make the trip for this. Pirates are in town starting Monday so I can check PNC off my list.

hotels are hotels are hotels...don't you read Hotels.com or google? They are just hotels....Downtown pitts is pretty small in that you can walk from the Renaissance to the arena in 20 min too. So no hotel is too far away.
Cannot disagree more.  Some hotels have bed bugs, or a non functioning AC, or cannot accomadate as much parking as they advertise, etc.

God forbid I ask for info in a forum for the band I'll see!

Lawrenceville is a good neighborhood for drinks and food. Gooski’s in Polish Hill for Saturday night.

It’s an easy drive for Cleveland, Columbus, and Buffalo.
Dennis Rodman stole my seat N1 @ PJ20.
U.S. Summer shows for the teachers, please.
I’m tired of driving to Chicago. Play Detroit, Cleveland, Columbus, Pittsburgh, or Buffalo.

I'm happy with Southwest using some almost forgotten flight credits and SAN-PIT costing $95 one way... since I'm hoping to continue on to Canada that's all I booked

In 2009, 2013 and 2016 I stayed at the hotel which was right next to Wells Fargo Center in Philly (before it became a casino).  There's something special about being so close! lol

Duhhh... staying at sports complex for a show there is better than riding train into downtown Philly. I'm talking about 12 min walk to venue vs 5 min walk. Not the same difference. Being next to venue in Pittsburgh only helpful if you're queuing all day

I hear you but the only way that walk is taking me an entire 5 minutes is if I drink too heavily… well it is going to be the weekend!

Put in for both nights. Fingers crossed this time, got shut out in 2013 when I was in college and lived downtown. Felt like a slap in the face to not get 10C tix when I lived 200 yards from the arena lol. Luckily my bro won the lottery that year, it was a hot ticket. Fun times standing in the merch line before the show and getting the poster
