I've had enough.  Either the trolls go, or I go, but not voluntarily.  I'm over it with the trolling.  The mods will have to decide this.  And I have already sent them apologies for have to deal with all this bullshit.  But it's time to put an end to this once and for all.  They are trolls.  They know it.  We know it.  The adults here want to have an adult conversation, not a food fight with adult children.  Trolling is out of bounds here.  Let's put and end to it and make this right.  I'm willing to stake my membership on this one if that's what it takes.  I will support Pearl Jam in other ways if I have to.  Enough.

So here we are in year 9 and two successful elections for Mr Hate, normalizing hate speech.

If offensive comments get quoted, then the hate speech is nearly impossible to avoid. Plus members would need to be able to identify every potential offensive commenter and ignore them in advance, with 100% accuracy.

Or, we can have a forum operate within it's well known rules.

The forum has rules, and referring to opinions as those of stupid losers and pussies is clearly not within the rules. Nor is it,  the type of forum the band wants promote. It should not matter that the specific attack was against a reporter. It's obvious the intended recepients are the readers of the forum.

you obviously didn't read the article, as there is a very sizable picture of him IN the article itself. 

And if you read the article, many studies have found evidence of just the opposite-"manly men" don't fare as well in relationships and, yes, sexual experiences, as "pussies". 

You clearly don't know what "most women" want, you know what you want, and that's fine. It's just odd to be so angry and spit such vitriol at something that doesn't affect you. 

Being "manly" is more closely associated with nonconsensual sex, intimate partner violence, not to mention suicide and other mental health challenges. And also physical health. 

Seriously, read the article without your rage glasses on. You might learn something about how the human species continues to evolve.

I can admit it, I'm an emotional guy. So when I'm feeling "measured", I try to look at each poster as if I have no idea what that person's life experience has been. Instead of being dismissive of their reaction, I try to envision that I might react the same way had I had the same personal experiences as them in life. Trump/maga voters included. It's not all black and white.

Unless im living under a rock, none of what that article says holds any reality in my life or view. Maybe it’s geared more towards TikTok or younger generations. Thankfully I know nothing about that world. 

I’d consider myself manly. I surf all the the time and am a beach bum. I would never not use sun screen. I use nothing less than 70spf. I heavily monitor what I put in my body, never smoke , never ever drink (it’s poison). Have an incredible relationship with my wife, we’ve been together for 20 years. Would never be unfaithful, to me that’s a sign of weakness. I consider sleep to be the most important aspect of my overall health. I take care of myself because I want to do what I love for as long as possible. Being active, surfing , drumming and being here as long as possible at a high level for my wife and my family. 

I’d consider most of that article to be the opposite of manly honestly. But I could just be completely out of touch and not into trends or whatever is going on on social media, since I have none. Just my two cents.

Yea I mean no one is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes. Making a mistake isn’t weakness. Not growing from them or making a change for the better is weakness imo.

I've had enough.  Either the trolls go, or I go, but not voluntarily.  I'm over it with the trolling.  The mods will have to decide this.  And I have already sent them apologies for have to deal with all this bullshit.  But it's time to put an end to this once and for all.  They are trolls.  They know it.  We know it.  The adults here want to have an adult conversation, not a food fight with adult children.  Trolling is out of bounds here.  Let's put and end to it and make this right.  I'm willing to stake my membership on this one if that's what it takes.  I will support Pearl Jam in other ways if I have to.  Enough.

I can’t wait to have my Thanksgiving meal at the kids table tomorrow, they are always a lot more fun and accepting to everyone.  Adults really can SUCK.
