  • Don't think the Porch false start was a joke pretty sure Ed had genuinely forgotten they had played it so early in the set haha
  • Was a fantastic show the new songs sound fantastic. Won't Tell and Setting Sun were my highlights.
  • Killer set list.  Can’t wait for Sydney on the 23rd.  Any word of a pre show party for that date?  Or can ya’ll direct me on where to find such info?   I apologize for asking here but not having any luck searching.  Much thanks.

Well I didn’t think Night 1 could be topped but it was. Maybe I came in with lower expectations because it was a Monday night, smaller crowd, maybe less energy, but I was wrong on all counts. GC was relatively quiet early in so had a spot 5 off the rail, Stone’s side in front of the screen.

The crowd was again massive, the energy was off the charts and the band played as if their life depended on it. The riffs are always there but the bass and drums are ruling these shows. 🤘

Once again a very crowd pleasing set, Betterman to kick it off, GTF, early Porch, Jeremy, DTE and Alive. The crowd (50,000? on both nights) sang every note.

Sat night didn’t get RVM, Black or Daughter so it was great to hear those. Daughter in particular with the It’s OK tag was special.

Personal highlights were Dark Matter tracks especially Stevie and Setting Sun! Last Exit, Animal, Once, Deep and Light Years (for Pam❤️) were great treats.

The only disappointment (if you’d call it that) was Baba being scratched off the setlist? Haven’t seen it though.

    Cant thank @gotthebottle enough.

    Scored a poster this morning.

Wish I could go to Sydney but work and family may disagree.

    Thankyou Pearl Jam, for everything!

    Peace and Love, Brendan.

Yep, I was also surprised at the size of and energy of the crowd. I expected it to be much smaller too. Got to hear 4 songs (not including the Dark Matter tracks) I hadn’t seen live across the two nights, Garden, In My Tree, Light Years and Unthought.

I am off to Sydney on Thursday morning for the two Sydney shows.

  • Hey everyone,
Just wondering if anyone has a video of Eddie throwing me a tambourine during the end of alive, I had a sign that read 'I LOVE MY MUM' if that helps.
Thanks so much for the help

Spot on. I went in thinking it may have been a smaller crowd with not even GA sold out etc but crowd was massive and loud. Going in with lower expectations after a great night 1 helps and they smashed night 2 out of the park.

Loved we got last exit, RVM, daughter, black, deep, oceans etc, they just cranked them out. Loved we got different songs off the new album including 3 I really wanted to see, scared of fear, waiting for Stevie and setting sun.

To get 14 different songs to night 1 was great.

Only downer may have been the end when they played one more and then stuffed it up and Mike just started with YL. Reckon Eddie really wanted to finish with a rocker. (Porch early was a suprise and worked well)

This band is crazy good. Just when I thought things couldn't get any better. Still tossing up whether Melb 1 or Melb 2 was better (I think Melb 2) so I am going to call it a tie. Crowd seemed a tiny bit better on night 1 but I thought the night 2 set list was better. So wish I was going to Sydney.
  • I had a great night, every PJ show is a joy to be at.

    New songs sounded so good.

Only thing I'd change is a different ending song. Indifference or Immortality would have been amazing.

Found some good footage of Light Years on you tube, a good quality recording but it doesn’t have the intro and dedication to Pam. Hopefully someone out there has it on their Phone!? 🙏❤️

Immortality, my white whale. Only been to 9 shows across many years in Melbourne but this one has eluded me. Got an Ed solo so prob shouldn’t complain.

When the boot gets released I am sure someone can send you the track with the intro for them to at least listen to.

Needed Release to complete 10. Was shattered when Betterman was the opener. Would have loved whoever requested deep to have asked for Rats instead to finish vs. Don't think I'll ever get that one.

I was lucky to get Release at my first concert in 1995.  We don't seem to get proper openers in Melbourne, I seem to get Betterman x2, Why Go x2, Small Town, Corduroy etc.  But I did get Long Road in 1998.

    Why go consecutively here too.

I saw 5 shows in Europe in 06. Copped betterman, long road, severed hand, wasted reprise, interstellar/ corduroy.

Then went brisx2 melb x3. Copped interstellar/ corduroy, wasted reprise, long road, go.

Been to all the other Melbourne gigs so u know the openers. Had tickets to Sydney and release but couldn't make it ffs.

So not the best of luck there with openers but who cares. At some point you got to remember just being present is what it's about. Over 100 unique songs I've seen makes up for it. Not to mention seeing fatal, dirty Frank, Satan's bed amongst some other rarer songs

You are 100% correct - the opener is just the first song they play, the fact that we have been there when they play any song is what it is about. At the end of the day I don't care what they play!
