As an ups driver, I just want to say this is completely wrong. We deliver to the post office daily. When stuff sits at that point, it has nothing to do with ups and everything to do with the post office being grossly understaffed. They work their tails off, but Louis DeJoy (trump appointee btw) absolutely gutted the company. My packages often sit at the post office here a mile from my house for literally days. I finally asked what was going on and was told they only deliver what they can when they’re short staffed, which is usually.

My Medium box says delivery by today on UPS, but last update was on the 14th in Fife, WA so looks like it is stuck somewhere in the UPS to USPS Innovations abyss
I am also stuck in Fife
My larges are also stuck in the UPS Innovations abyss. Stated delivery dates of 11/12 and every day since. Zero movement since 11/8. Sweedsboro, NJ is the Fife, WA of the east... Adds to the mystery?!..
Day 11 of zero movement. It'll be shocking if DOGE does recommend the elimination of USPS...
The USPS is self-funded, so it would be a huge waste of time to target it in an attempt to address government spending.
Only a complete idiot like Elon would consider closing our USPS. Postal workers work really hard and it is generally a great service. My mail carrier is awesome. Do they mess up? Of course, everyone does. I've had problems with them, but more success that completely outweighs the bad. The real problem here is the Mail Innovations service. IF all of these packages had gone straight to USPS, many of us would have already had our stuff in hand. I just know that anything shipped through Mail Innovations will most likely be delayed, and I reduce my expectations accordingly. Will I actually get my package today? Maybe. Maybe not.

People are asking why things are delayed. It’s not a debate, just a lot of info thrown around that isn’t correct. Trying to be helpful so people understand how the system actually works.

Key thing I’d take away is, both companies work hard and it’s the holidays. Stuff gets delayed. Happens! But it will get there.

There are shipping charts online that show approximate shipping times for both. Once your item shows as shipped, it will be 1-5 business days in the ups system. Once it’s delivered to usps, it will most likely be delivered next day unless they’re delayed.

Gus S.- totally appreciate how hard ups and usps drivers work. Thank you!  Just curious if you have any insight into what is happening with the packages from ups Fife with no updates in tracking for days and days. Should we worry or are they just moving through the system as expected? (I am very eager for my box to arrive!)
  • Such a cute 🐈
  • Ok, I have a serious problem. I have three cats but only two mystery bags on the way. Do I double upon one? Shoot both packs with all three cats? Skip the cats and only include the dog? And what if they send me duplicate cats? FFS this is stressful

I take these shipping dates with a grain or two of salt. Whenever I see a estimated date from the 10C using Mail Innovations, I have been conditioned to expect that date or later for the hand off to USPS, and then another 3-4 days for actual delivery.
  • On a more serious note, thanks Gus for the info, my partner's M bag has been sitting at USPS here in town for a few days now. Makes sense that it can't move until they have capacity to deliver. I can wait (tap tap tap tap tap tap)

I want to be clear that I was also not talking smack about UPS. I know you all work your asses off. The problem is a logistical glitch with how Mail Innovations operates. It's like playing telephone with too many people. It's a terrible system, and we've all complained about it, and it stays, so no point in trying to get 10C to change that. My package was supposed to be delivered yesterday, but I knew it wouldn't. Scheduled for today, but also know that is up in the air. I'm just chilling and being patient. It's not life or death. It's only a bunch of shirts(and maybe cats).

If they got a scan in Fife, most likely won’t get another scan again until they get close to their destination. For example, if something leaves Fife for say, Atlanta, in all likelihood it will be on a train for 4-5 days with no scans. Once it gets to the actual delivery area, you should see a flurry of scans and expect it within a day (or if backed up locally, another day or two). I ordered two bags, both sat here in Eugene for a day before getting delivered. And for the record, tracking didn’t say they were actually delivered until a day later.

I think it’s  accurate that the two tracking systems might not mesh very well. But the timetables should still be relatively solid. Also, re: Fife, I’m guessing that’s a big USPS hub? Very possible they’re backed up. Close proximity to Amazon headquarters and they tend to flood all the delivery systems this time of year.

And one last point, 10c often generates labels before they actually ship. But once they actually get in the system, estimated delivery dates should update. The system is based on things shipping same day as label creation. When that’s not the case, it won’t update until it gets a pickup scan, which often isn’t until the end of a day.

Hope that all helps. It’s a good system, but it certainly works more smoothly when it’s not nearing the holidays lol

He has mellowed a bit with age - turned 13 this year.
