Is anybody else thinking what I'm thinking: that @Santos L. Halper will be sending out the Strat closer to Christmas so that it is like a true present?
The funniest thing would be for the strat to have been delivered weeks ago and the person who got it not being someone who posts here or on Facebook.
Imagine it going to someone with no idea the strat was a possibility. Pure befuddlement at what has shown up at their door.
Or it would end up in someone’s hands that will just flip it on eBay…. Ooof that would suck so bad.
You can just buy one on the Fender site so I'm not sure how flippable it is per se. Very expensive but not a one-off item or anything. (My understanding is that it's not played or signed so strike my response if I'm wrong about any of that.)
    It sells for $1900 new… $1500 or so on reverb.com new…
that’s an easy $1k flip… sooo very flippable.

Yep, I had the same thought. Perhaps he's holding it back for a grand finale  :pensive:

how are canadians getting their mystery bags with the strike still on? mine hasn't shipped yet.
I think some of the later bags went from UPS to a different carrier instead of USPS > Canada Post.
how bizarre. I got a notification of shipment the second I checked this thread.
You have an alternate carrier delivering? Lucky you, mine will be in customs for awhile by the looks of it. Something to look forward to in the new year
dunno. just says it's starting with UPS. And it's coming from Fontana California for some reason.
I was born in Fontana. Good luck with the Strat. Definitely seems weird, so maybe it is something awesome. Good luck!

I think shipping out the remaining bags in Fender boxes would be even funnier.

I guess I wasn't considering "selling it to someone at a discount" as "flipping"

Would you sell it for less than what you paid for the mystery bag?

If you get the strat and you're like "look this is really nice but I'm realistically not going to play or display it" and you sell it to someone who will at a price below MSRP that seems like doing someone a solid vs flipping

We have gotten oversensitive about items changing hands. That guitar is very nice but it's not a prize for everyone.

My XXL bag just arrived in the Netherlands. So happy with the lime green Home Shows shirt. I was at those shows and bought a size Large in that shirt that doesn’t fit anymore, so I am very chuffed I can now finally wear that shirt again in a bigger size. During the 2018 tour I never was really a big fan of the cream skull shirt and didn’t buy it, but it has grown on me the last few years so I’m happy I got one now. The Deep Katowice shirt is great too. Absolutely love the Riot Act era skull sticker! All in all a great score this mystery bag I think. Thank you once again 10C!!

I like to think there is a chance it could be one of the guitars Mike road-tested in 2023. Would be cool if it showed up with a very low serial number or somehow marked as a prototype.   =)

Putting on my conspiracy theory hat...  the one in the Mystery Bag pictures is missing the sticker that covers the trem-bar hole on a "new" one. So SOMEONE has played it, right?

That would definitely change the calculus

I guess I hadn't read the fine print, or just the regular print. I assumed it had been Mike-used.

There is a limited run of 60 made by vincent van trigt that are going for quite a bit more than the run of mill McCready strats… if it’s one of these…. Then It’s an absolute prize…

If it's the one in the pics, it is 100% not one of those!

It s crazy that the Strat is that expensive and is made in Mexico.  I can’t imagine how much it would have cost if it was made in the USA.

Well, if I got it I wouldn't flip. I'd invest the time & learn how to play, build it a shrine and worship at the alter.
Ok, maybe not so much the latter.

    But I'd cherish it.
