Bummer, but they'll probably be ok.  I'd imagine your average store wouldn't survive that though.

Damn, I only went there for the first time in late August when I was in Seattle for the Foo Fighters show.   It's a pretty cool record store.

    PLEASE BEAR WITH US:
Due to a pipe burst in the building above us the other night, our store might look a bit messy right now. Rest assured, we are doing our best to clean the store as fast as possible while staying open to the public.
Please do not hesitate to ask for assistance while shopping.
Thank you for your continued support...LOUD LOVE.
    Easy Street.

Not really a break in, sounds like a person having mental health issues: https://westseattleblog.com/2024/10/woman-to-hospital-after-easy-street-records-window-incident/

Ever since Easy Street hooked me up with a record I really wanted, I have been trying to order records from them. Just got another one this week. Saw this thread and ordered a t-shirt to support them. I look forward to some day actually visiting the store in person.

Ok, my brief Easystreet story from this week.

I’m on holiday in the PNW and have just spent much of the last 2 weeks in Canada in Vancouver and on Vancouver Island.  Convinced my wife/family to visit Seattle for a few days before going home to NZ (will be driving back to Vancouver in a couple of hours).  W only had 2 full days here, Wednesday and Thursday. So Wednesday morning we did Pike Place, an underground walk, and had plans to go to MOPOP. Discovered MOPOP was closed Wednesday, so convinced wife we could go to Easystreet (had planned to go Thursday).  She agreed, partly as they have a cafe/bar so she and boy kid could hang whilst me and girl kid could check out the store.  Walked in the store front after taking the obliging Chris Cornell/Mother Love Bone wall photos, to sort of overhear this guy talking about New Zealand. It’s Mike talking to Easystreet’s owner. Gave him a fist bump, told him I’d see him next month in New Zealand. Couldn’t believe it.

Sat in a booth with the fam for a second, and my wife said “why don’t you ask him for a photo?” So I politely interrupted him, he was really gracious about it, Matt, the Easystreet owner took  a couple of photos in front of the big Dark Matter poster, and we chatted for a few minutes (he really loves “Wellington Paranormal”, and we discussed the Christchurch earthquake from 2011).  My daughter literally thought he was a friend from NZ as he was so amiable. He even gave me a few picks.

so, tldr, went to Easystreet, met Mike, one of the best experiences of my life.

(and ended up buying 4 albums and 3 shirts for my daughter and myself).

That is awesome. Congrats! I still have not met Mike, yet. My friend knows him and he isn't even a big PJ fan. Maybe some day I will go record shopping with the two of them.

Yes! Discretely pack lp jackets and fresh sharpies. Play it cool then lay out the stash.

=) I can say that at least my buddy has hooked me up with stuff he got signed for me and some picks. Grateful for those items, but I mostly wanna just hang and talk deeply about music. Mike has very eclectic taste in regards to music, so we'd probably have a lot to talk about.

When I was there a couple of days after the flood I didn't really notice that it was a bit messy - just looked like a record store to me.

Yeah I was there today for the Jerry Cantrell signing and you wouldn’t even know they had a flood.
