The Longest Show: King of the Hill Style

No...not the TV show.

I just ran the 5H Concert Chronology to look at each year. Obviously, the longest show AT ONE POINT was 10/22/1990 in Seattle, since it was obviously the first show.

I have random notes along the way.

It was bumped off the throne by...
7/17/91 - Wetlands Preserve: New York, NY [60m]

(The second show listed on 5H was a Temple of the Dog show, but it was longer than the 10/22/1990 gig.)

It was bumped off the throne by...
1/17/92 - Moore Theater: Seattle, WA [70m]

It was bumped off the throne by...
2/07/92 - Koolkat Klub: Stockholm, Sweden [75m]

It didn't last long because...
2/28/92 - Union of London University: London, England [80m] (Eddie was very chatty here, even though the song count was about the same as the prior night.)

3/02/92 - Paard, Den Haag, Holland [88m]

3/04/92 - Tivoli: Utrecht, Holland [90m]

Getting close to two hours...
6/25/92 - Moderna Museet, Skeppsholmen: Stockholm, Sweden [110m]

(The second part of 1992 was Lollapalooza and nothing came close.)

BOOM! TWO HOURS!
8/19/93 - Verdun Auditorium: Montreal, Quebec [120m]

3/10/94 - Chicago Stadium: Chicago, IL [135m]

3/13/94 - New Regal Theater: Chicago, IL [140m]

3/19/94 - Masonic Theater: Detroit, MI [150m]
(Note: Atlanta 94, aka "Dissident single" was also 150.)

1/08/95 - Self-Pollution Radio: Seattle, WA [270m]
(Does this really count? If it does, then none of the 2013-2018 shows or State College 2003 even come close to "longest show.")

(Note... The Red Rocks show had Eddie stop a song due to a fight in the crowd. They picked the song up where it stopped...far from the only time a song was paused.)

7/11/95 - Soldier Field: Chicago, IL [155m]
11/04/95 - Spartan Stadium: San Jose, CA [155m]
(It's interesting how both these shows were exactly 155. Soldier Field gets the throne. The San Jose show, which I believe was the "This is the one that was written during a really bad day" Red Mosquito show, does not get the throne.)

9/16/96 - Key Arena: Seattle, WA [135m]
I clicked here before I started to go through each year and I would have guessed it had the throne. Nope!

9/29/96 - Downing Stadium (Randall's Island): New York, NY [168m]

1/31/98 - Monkeywrench Radio: Seattle, WA [235m]
(Really?)

Notes from the 98 tour. Many are still relevant today...such as DON'T TAKE PHOTOS IN THE DARK.

Then we get to the 2000 tour. A lot of the European shows were over two hours, but I'd bet the US shows were closer to two hours with the exception of the last night.

6/04/00 - Manchester Evening News Arena: Manchester, England [132m]
(This seems to be their closest since Randall's Island. Many of the 98 shows were right around two hours.)

6/14/00 - Peagas Arena: Prague, Czech Republic [135m]

6/16/00 - Spodek: Katowice, Poland [145m]

6/22/00 - Fila Forum: Milan, Italy [150m]

6/30/00 - Roskilde Festival (orange stage): Copenhagen, Denmark... approximately 45 minutes, but how much difference does it make?

11/06/00 - Key Arena: Seattle, WA
The only show on the 2000 tour that used three CDs. No length listed.

Then...it ends.

I'd GUESS...
State College 2003 has the throne since it was the only show that year that used three CDs.

After that, it's probably... Pittsburgh 2013? I'd honestly have no clue.

I went to the Charlotte 2013 show in which they played 32 songs (3 cds). I remember getting out of there around midnight, had to be a long one.

This is the correct answer, I believe, although as I type I think Seattle 2 2018 was a few minutes longer, as well as the most amazing concert I've ever seen.

Rome 2018 or that Leeds show in 2014?

I think Stockholm was the longest one on the 2012 tour. At least in Europe...

Denver 2014 is way up there somewhere

But is it "King of the Hill" the day after it happened?

A very long show on the date it happened may not be longer than the previous longest-ever show...if that makes sense.

    Example:
    9/16/96 - Key Arena: Seattle, WA [135m]

On 9/17/96, it was definitely one of the top 5-10...but it WASN'T on the throne since a previous show was longer.

Yes Seattle Night 2 '18 was longer.
