    overheard convo at red wing while waiting to get my boots resoled.

    usial talking points about failures etc....


    made me wonder what exactly people think is supposed to happen and when.

    just a little bit of thought, says maybe they need to wait til max flood stage is reached, water receeds enough to see what roads look like. debris cleared to repair roads as needed for basic recovery/rescue/aid . coordinating other logistics,  equipment,  personnel, assess and come up with a plan that then needs implemented.

    not sure that can happen is just a day or two....

    I'm seeing a lot of people on TikTok that are in the Tampa area questioning if they should leave or not.  What a horrible position to be in.

    Hard to tell what info is accurate anymore but one of the people were saying that Tampa has never been hit at an angle like this (as projected).

    I know a couple that retired to Cape Coral a few years ago. They are likely just normalizing after the hurricane that went through there before. Hopefully they don't get another direct hit.

    During Katrina and Rita there was a mass exodus of the black population that moved out and the Latinos came in doing the cleanup work.  Whomever was the mayor at the time voiced his opinion about that and got a bunch of backlash.  Trying to remember but I think he said "NO is going from black to brown" or something to that effect.
