Memorial Day Sale, that's funny . . . lemmings off the cliff (there's really no such thing, it's just marketing).
Pacomc79, you work/worked for Guitar Center in Atlanta, are you able to back me up on this . . .

yeah the "list" is freaking hilarious. Sale? It's just an endless rotation of either blowing out crap that no one wants until it's on sale and then they realize after they bought it it's really not all that great... or a financing agreement with a manufacturer that lets you strech out the payments or go interest free on a purchase. You pretty much just have to pick what you want watch what they do and then find the best month sale for you.. if you're buying GC anyway.

Funny . . . the markup on those Crate tube amps is ridiculous (employee cost is about 1/2 of the selling price).

true, at least they come with tone tubbies now though.

That's one reason I never liked Kaman Music either the huge markup.

really? yeah, i could see that...

but you can definitely beat the internet prices if you shop around a little. i got my vfx 5212 for under $700, brand new. it's funny that with all the talk of guitar center "sales" in this thread, i actually did get mine on sale there! who would have thought?

oh well... let's just call it a stupidity tax on anyone who's buying a mass-produced amplifier online without hearing it first. ;)
  • I run a halfstack version of this and I love it!...Its a little bit more than what you were looking to spend but its a GREAT amp

Great sound, and that Jensen speaker actually does make a big difference IMO. I figured I could just mic it for big performances and that it would sound great for recording. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with the purchase.
