bass amp problem

i had a little peavey practice amp and it started messing up and making weird feedback noises....i had planned to replace it anyway and i just got a new 60 watt behringher amp and i plugged it in and the sounds are back....which leads me to my question....the cord i have is pretty old and all tangled up....so could the cord be the source of my problem and i just need to buy a new cord? any advice/answers would be appreciated. thanks.

    Try a different cable, and if that doesn't fix it, try a different bass (or even test a guitar or something). When I get weird, unwanted sounds in my rig, I always start by swapping things out from cheapest to most expensive (i.e. cables, then pedals, then amp, then guitar).
    ...and if you don't like it, you can suck on an egg.

    sounds like a cord problem..

    maybe something else too..

    whenever i use my wah-pedal in certain parts of my house with certain amounts of distrotion on i get radio stations..

    i once got a full, crystal clear beach boys song in my kitchen :)

    Deffinately start with the chord, then a different bass, or even guitar.

    Peavey have there place. Theres a lot more expensiver stuff that is worse then a descent price peavey amp.

    The cord was the problem. I replaced it, and all is well.
