Heres what I found,as far as I know this was used on some of the Record,but in the Booklet he's using a Yamaha too..so?

  • I saw one Shure mic on the rack tom (like a KSM 32 or similar) but what's on the floor tom(s)? That is NOT a Shure. And the kick drum? At least two mics there, but can't see what. The mic over the ride cymbal looks like a black-bodied SM81, but I've never heard of an 81 with a black capsule. And I can't really see any other mics...

    Sorry, I'm just a mic junkie...

  • Drums are the most difficult, most fun, and most easy to mess up instrument to mic and record... I always take notes on what mics and what techniques people are using. I would love to see a Brad Wilk recording session... especially if Rick Rubin is working the session. The RATM/Rubin drum sound is like my holy grail... if I can ever reproduce that, I'll be happy...
