90's Alternative - Seed Art - MN State Fair

Thought this was pretty cool.  Minnesota State Fair has a "seed art" exhibit where people use actual seeds to create works of art (i think by gluing them...?  I don't know)  Anyway, somebody made a collage of band's from the 90's and it was a nice mental walk down memory lane!  Credit to Dan Lindquist as you can see in the photo

    Yeah. How the heck? I'm assuming a to. Of seeds glued down somehow and painted? Was it flat or overlapping?
