Bass through Guitar Amp

Is it harmful to use guitar amp for an electric bass?

Is there any danger to the speakers or circuts from the lower frequencies, will it sound horrible, or whould it be OK?

not the best idea out there, but if you have to, go ahead. However a guitar sounds fantastic through a nice bass amp. They are usually so clean, it's awesome.
