They're times in life when it seems like things are going wrong. One can push through the problems and it turns into something spectacular!
Two weeks ago today i decided to go see Stick Figure after realizing they were coming to town here in WPB, FL.About 5 years ago my barber's colleague told me about these reggae bands we all were listening in the shop...Rebelution, Tribal Seeds, Dirty Heads, The Movement and STICK FIGURE.
I've been listening ever since on and off. I chose to walk a half mile to the amphitheater because i refuse to pay $60 for up front parking. Lawn seats were the only tickets left, i had not seen that many people since RUSH'S Time Machine Tour.

SOJA
opened for SF and they were excellent.  I know them from Northern Virginia as they would play all around the DC Metro area. After their set a serious thunderstorm/lightening  and rain from hell came through. It delayed the show for a hour. I had thoughts of leaving, some folks left. I said, I've never seen them, I have to check them out.

SF opening jam which was an instrumental rock number Moon Palace. I thought it was unusual but it sounded so good. Two songs in i said, my friend (he canceled) would of loved this. Four songs in i said this show is going to be something I'll never forget. Their sound was exquisite and precise even way out on the lawn. The lighting/effects were on top notch which again reminded me of RUSH.

They played for what seemed like for hours but it was actually around 2 hours 15 minutes. Two sets of encores, a introduction to Scott's (lead singer main lyricist) mother as it was her birthday 8/10. She flew in from parts unknown to be with her son. I stood up for the 3-4 hours i was there and felt no pain on my walk back to my car. When i got there i jumped in my car then jumped back out. I had no idea i was soaking wet and i didnt care except for my leather seats. Oh after the show i ran into an old friend *Versace* who hapoens to be the soundman for SF. We have been friends since he was the sound for Michael Franti & Spearhead twenty years ago.

To cap this show, it was beyond exceptional. Ive seen hundreds 💯 of concerts and this show is easily in the top 10. So much so two days later i packed up scuba gear and headed diwn to KEY WEST for the final show of the tour. Another fantastic show however not on the level that was WPB. I ordered their entire catalog in a bundle, expected 5 cds i got 8.

I did make an observation of SF.
About every 4th song of their's they mention or the song is about 5 things....love, ocean, sea, sun and fire. If you like reggae or a fun summer concert STICK FIGURE is the cure.

Well their Summer Sands Tour ended here in Florida.  I checked they are only play 4 more shows all in Las Vegas for 2024. Two in one day something like that. I'm telling  you THIS is a band you will want to see live, I would go to Vegas but the shows are in early October and I'm opening a new club at that time. They're now the only band I'm willing to travel to see live. They remind me of RUSH just in a reggae genre. So I'm shooting 2025 and hopefully a new album.

Stick Figure came up on my playlists and really like them.  OAR is another one, Slightly Stoopid, Dispatch.  Rebolution live is another level. Dirty Heads, Rome. Pepper.

All white dudes, lol.  Good stuff though.

It's funny you said that they're ALL white dudes. I told my ex girlfriend after she came back from 🇯🇲 Jamaica recently that I fell in ❤️ Love. The phone went silent,  she asks who is she, I said it's not a she, silence,  it's them. I told her the name Stick Figure and she looks them up and adds them to her playlist. She then says they'll white dudes, I then said they might be white, but they DAMN sure know their reggae. I must say THIS is the longest I've ever gone without listening to one RUSH song. I can't get this band out of my head after witnessing them live.

Needless to say she was relieved to know it was a band and not a woman. She desperately wants to get back in.

OK you named a few I've never heard of Dispatch, Rome and Pepper. Rebelution I know and watched them live I think it was Red Rocks. I've got to get used to there horn section though.

The band that's drawn my attention is The Movement lately.  I'm going to check them ALL out. I do not want to let any of these bands slip through like how Stick Figure has. They've been around for over 14 years now, I can't believe I didn't wake up to the great music they've created over that time. Their last 5 albums I've clicked the like button on EVERY single track.
