Jeff Ament revisits Pearl Jam’s Montana concerts in exclusive SiriusXM PJ Radio special

Ahead of Pearl Jam’s highly anticipated concert in Missoula, Montana, SiriusXM’s Pearl Jam Radio (Ch. 22) is airing a new special hosted by bassist Jeff Ament about his and the band’s history in Montana. The exclusive show will premiere on the channel Wednesday, August 21, at 11am ET and will be available on the SiriusXM app with a subscription and free trial.

A native of Montana, Ament attended the University of Montana where Pearl Jam will perform again on August 22 with support from Glen Hansard. While Pearl Jam first played in Montana in 1992, Ament revealed their ’93 show in Missoula was their first memorable concert in Big Sky Country.

“The first real solid recording we have is from June 16, 1993,” Jeff Ament said. “We played the University Theatre in Missoula where I went to college. I think we played like 23, 24 songs that night, which might have been the whole catalog because we only had two records out at that point.”

    Aside from the short afternoon set at Lollapalooza, Missoula '98 was my first headling real PJ show.   I've been hoping to see a soundboard get released for so long.   There's 1 song from the show on this.  Would love to here it.  Hopefully someone can capture it )
