Why are GHS Fatties 10 for $20 at Guitar Center? What is wrong with these strings for them to be so cheap?

I grabbed 10 sets on Martin M150 strings for my acoustic at musiciansfriend.com for $25 and they're fine. Maybe they're just on sale.

I got some free Fatties from musicians friend when I got my SG.

There's really nothing wrong with them, but I've found they junk up easier than the Boomers, and I don't think they ring as well.

Everyone seems to be giving away strings. I bought a pedal last week at Guitar Center and the dude gave me 4 free packs of Boomers in exchange for buying the warranty policy, which was about the same price.

  • actually, these strings have been this price for at least a year. just wondering, because i buy them and haven't had any problems with them.
  • Fatties are great if you don't want to keep in tune.
Rather be forgotten than remembered for giving in.
