Mikes Current Gear

So I don't know if anyone has peeped Mike's current amp and cab setup lately. He has moved away from the tube world entirely. The recent show in Vancouver has Mike with two Fender FR-12s on Marshall 4x12's. The Fender's were mic'd however the Marshalls were not... Might the Marshalls be cosmetic only? It's impossible to know for sure how Mike is using the Fenders but it is safe to say he is using the Fender Tone Master Pro though. How do you guys think he is using this set up? Sticking to one or two amp models? Switching models depending on song? I have no idea if he has the Tone Master Pro at his feet or maybe he can control it with the RJM Midi Controller, which I have no idea how he has been using that either... What are your thoughts on his current setup?

I don't know about the amp talk.  But I will say it's fun to see him playing his white Gibson SG and I'm pretty sure I saw a Gibson Firebird in Portland.  Also, in years past, he used a Gibson Flying V for Present Tense.  This time it looked like a Gretsch Jet.  At one point Mike, Ed, and Stone were all playing Telecasters on the same song.  Never seen the triple-Telecaster set up.  Wish I could remember the song.

I have been asking for that for a long time & obviously Stone & Jeff as well. I'm not sure if he using the Tonemaster Pro as one of the downsides of it is it can be hard to see when on the floor & he is not wearing his glasses. The Apple TV YouTube upload showed off his board & there was no TMP. On the other hand if he is using the Fender FR12 he would definitely would have the Tonemaster as they are really cabinets not actual amps. This is why need a rundown

What I find very interesting is the fact that Eddie is playing through some tweed tonemaster fender amps because as of yet those have not been released to the public but fender has hinted that they would eventually come out.

It looks to me as Paisley Tele with the pattern on it, only seen one shot of it. Also he is using what looks like an Olympic white strat as well & on even flow

I noticed that this weekend as well. 2 tweeds, no mics, must mean tonemasters.

As for Mike, looked like the two tonemasters, one mic'd one not. Possible the Marshalls for stage volume, because Mike likes it loud. Couldn't for the life of me figure out what was going on with stone's rig

I haven't really kept up on Mike's gear post covid, but I also noticed him playing more Teles than I'm used to (at least 2, I think 3) as well as a larger variety of LPs. There was one that matched the wear on the original burst (though with a fixed pickup ring, so also possible its one of the aged CS versions), one with covered pickups but a much redder burst and a nice flame, and then one with zebra coils.

No idea if they're all new, but I hadn't noticed most before

No gearhead myself, but what are the 3'loud,louder,loudest' white amps/speakers/whatnot currently on stage? Sorry for sounding like a doofus...

Visited CME as usual when I was in Chicago & spoke to a staff member there who said Mike is using a 59 Les Paul that they leant him for the tour. I don't think he has been using his burst for a number of years now

Makes sense to not take an old guitar worth hundreds of thousands of dollars out on tour.

I got good shots of Mike and Jeff’s rigs from Indy, couldn’t get a clear shot of Stone’s from where i was though.

He may not be using heads at all. He switched to the Fender Tone Masters and they have a workstation, so he could just be using that as part of his pedalboard and running it to the powered Tone Master cabs and using the Marshalls as extension cabs (or they’re just dummy, who knows).

Actually going by the fact that there aren’t any mics on the Marshall stacks, only the Tone Master cabs, leads me to believe they are dummy. I was right up front and it wasn’t overbearingly loud like you would think Jeff’s three stacks and Mike’s three stacks would be. My guess is his sound is just coming from the Fender cabs and Jeff only has the top row of speakers active in his cabs (all the mics are up at the top on his).
