Sad news. Refused to take a ”producer royalty” on his albums, among them Nirvana’s In Utero.

There is a good interview with him (and Dave and Krist) by Conan.

This interview is really interesting. It makes me thankful I never "made it" in the music business, and it's also fun to read his strong opinions.
I was laughing when he was talking about a band he is currently recording:

M: This band you were just recording sounded a bit Public Image to me.

S: This band is horrible. They’re an example of an inexcusably bad band who’s been around for too long to be apologized for. I really don’t like their music. And they’re really annoying people.

1991- Hollywood Palladium, California with Temple of the Dog, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains -RIP Magazine Show Oct. 6th
    1992- Lollapalooza, Irvine, California
    Nothing since then. I suck.
2016- Fenway Park, Boston - Both glorious nights
    2022- Oakland Night 2

This was sad news to read today. The guy produced a lot of great stuff, and definitely had some unique views. The Conan interview of him, Grohl & Novoselic for IU's 30th anniversary was fantastic.

    RIP.

One of my favorites is this Dylan Baldi interview from 2012 where the first 3 questions are about recording with Albini

Awful news. Steve was one of the most authentic people in the industry and a genius producer and musician. RIP Steve.

Terrible and sad news.  61, oh man.  Way too young.  A fine talent gone.

I'm just putting this link here, which I came across. I am unfamiliar with the person, but it is good for everyone to see all sides of a thing.

If you take a dive into Big Black lyrics....that is also a journey. Especially when you juxtapose it against that prose.

Look this is the ultimate hammer in any Pearl Jam vs Nirvana argument.

"Meanwhile a month later Pearl Jam released Vs., their first collaboration with long-time producer Brendan O'Brien who has never advocated for relations beyond those with consenting adults."

Prett sure it's true (among other things that i'm reading that have apparently been excused as "edgelord behaviour"). And that makes EV's little honour's of him during the Portland show pretty awkward.

I mean look there's the Pete Townshend stuff too. If you don't want to believe a person is a certain way you'll grasp at anything you can to deny it or ignore it.
