I leave every PJ show feeling like it was worth all the expense and time. Sounds like TOOL made a lot of people pretty mad

Read an article this morning about the TOOL getaway. Ouch!!
Sounded terrible. Yes always a risk seeing a band for two nights if they aren’t known for mixing up their sets. But when it’s advertised as a weekend away you would have thought they would have mixed stuff up.
Eh. Those of us at Worcester 2 2013 who had also been there the night before knew we weren't seeing as good a show. Doesn't mean it wasn't a good show or a fun show, but it also wasn't the best as it was happening.
I skipped N1 & only went to N2.
If I’m understanding the internet correctly, N1 had Last Kiss, Crazy Mary and Sonic Reducer near the end of the show. Have nothing against any of those songs, but PJ has about a hundred self written tunes I’d rather hear towards the end of any show. Apologies if I’ve mixed the nights.
This is why you can't judge a show by the setlist...
Ed didn't have it @ N2. People said he got shattered the night before so he may have been hung over. (N1 was an epic show by all accounts) .
Long story short, the energy from the band just wasn't there, it was as lackluster a show as I've ever seen out of them.
I was at Buffalo 2013 the show before and thought at the time Ed was starting to come down with a cold.
We thought that (Ed) but then someone told us that it’s a horrible sound system in Buffalo. Don’t know if that true(?).

Unless they explicitly said they were doing that, I wouldn't have thought that would be a given at all. I thought the appeal was more about the destination aspect and variety of other bands performing.

If you're scheduling your own festival and only selling full weekend packages you should not be repeating songs.
Especially when you're only playing 2 nights.
Especially when you've only scheduled yourself for 90 minutes each night.

Also, don't advertise 2 unique sets, and then troll your audience about their justified expectation for a different set on night 2.
& while we're at it, drop the friggin' 10 minute drum solo.
I was glad to finally see them for the first time last year, but after looking at the setlists from the past four years, I realised I could easily wait another five or six years before seeing them again—basically until they release another album, if that ever happens. It’s way better being a Pearl Jam fan, as long as you’re not stuck in Europe most of the time...

There was a period from about 2006-2014 where people not from Europe complained about how much PJ was playing in Europe. Their touring cycles and locales have ebbs and flows. You just happened to jump in where they had a couple tough tours with cancellations, after having not been in EU since 2018. Prior to that they were very good to UK/EU fans for about 12 years.

Oh yeah, I really enjoyed 2006 a lot, as well as 2007. I think at that time, I thought I had seen enough, and Backspacer wasn't my favourite album when it came out. But it’s funny to think that between 2009 and 2012, I could have seen Pearl Jam four times in Berlin alone, without having to travel much. And hey, I was never keen on the forum either back then, but yeah, choices, right?
I saw Tool in 2009 and 2017 and it felt like the same exact show even though the sets were slightly different. I could never love a band who treats their fans like that.
4k plus for ten songs each night? Fuck that. Never liked Tool anyway. If Pearl Jam ever does one of these weekend getaway travel packages I am done.
They're a lot of fun when they're done right. The My Morning Jacket OBHs have been fantastic. Tool executed poorly. I would have faith in a Pearl Jam one if they did it.

So I guess you are not a fan of ohana travel packages? I know you can do ohana on the cheap but one of those packages with exchange rate and all is close to 4K for some people.

If there was to be a Canadian tour later in the year what are the ticketing rules for Canada? Transfers allowed ?
I know nothing about dates btw just thinking ahead
Same rules apply as the BC show in 2024. No transfers allowed, get buddy to scan you in, share log ins, use F2F.. etc
Keep in mind if you are in the US and try to sell Canadian show tickets on F2F… it is a pain in the ass to get paid. A few of us were waiting a very long time and still ended up getting a Canadian check mailed to us after all was said and done
*cheque /s
Spelled cheque or chequing in Canada but check or checking in the States.
I know. that's what the "/s" is for. Denotes sarcasm.

MMJ had a great run of travel packages that were a great deal and very well executed. I never did OBH but they had some great deals for Louisville, Chicago and Red Rocks. Less than 1K per man for 2-3 nights plus good swag. And great seats. Not really a destination type thing but great value including everything but the flights. When I see the prices for these destination trips I just shrug. Why anyone would spend 4K to see 2.5 hours of Tool makes no sense to me.
