Chicago Hotel Question

Good afternoon, 

Coming into Chicago for both Wrigley shows from Canada. 
Was looking at booking in at the Aloft Magnificent Mile hotel based on price and proximity to Grand station to get to the shows.

Was just wondering if anyone had input into the area the hotel is in and safety walking to and from the subway before and after the concerts.

From a fellow Canadian, we have been to all the Wrigley shows and the downtown area / Magnificent Mile + the Red Line to Wrigley has always been very safe. I have been going to Chicago since the mid 80's, we walk everywhere and have never had an issue. 

The train will be extremely busy after the show but there are so many bars in Wrigleyville we always wait till the crowd dies down then head back to the hotel.

The Wrigley shows are always great just have to hope for good weather. A few rain delays in the past including 2+ hours in 2013 which made that show that much more memorable, 2:00am the boys called it a night or morning I guess.

Thanks Jo. I see you are in London, we are making the drive down from Chatham. We were at both shows last time around and stayed at a hotel near DePaul U which was fine. Thanks for your feedback
