Pearl Jam Among 200 Artists Calling for Responsible AI Music Practices

Non-profit organization Artist Rights Alliance has issued an open letter focused on the rise of AI in music, signed by over 200 prominent names in the music industry, including Billie Eilish, Pearl Jam, Greta Van Fleet, Jason Isbell, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj,Elvis Costello, Jon Batiste, and Stevie Wonder.

    Over 200 artists have signed an open letter warning developers and platforms against using artificial intelligence in music creation.     I think there’s a good technological purpose for AI in music in terms of cleaning up old (like old 78s) and audience recordings. 

    But I think this is probably more to prevent labels from satisfying the dopes that just want 1992 Pearl Jam over and over again and knowing that the labels may try to do that. (Not PJ specifically, but probably)
