So who are some great underrated bands you've seen live?

I'll add some of mine in:
The Nixons - I've got to meet them a couple of times as well, cool guys
Seven Mary Three - I miss them and hope they come back
The Dead Deads - Seen them open twice now

How about you?

    The Headstones.

Canadian band.   Were a bit bigger in the 90s, but now they tend to play bars.  They tear the house down every time.  Super bummed they haven't swung by Victoria since before Covid :(

I need to dig out some Seven Mary Three!

Don’t know if they’re underrated, but Rival Sons blew me away…there were only about 200 people at the show but the band brought it like they were playing a stadium.

If they are good live how are they underrated?  Who makes that notion, lol?

Bands that blew me away live?

    Cage the Elephant
    Billy Strings
    Nathaniel and the Nightsweats
Didn't expect much going in to these 3.

I just saw Rival Sons open for The Pumpkins last summer, they were pretty good.

    I love me some 7M3!!!

Fair question. I just mean like 7M3, don't have a lot followers or sell a lot of records or play big venues... stuff like that.

    Ahhh got it.

The Weeks then for me.  They always slay.

The Oh Sees/OCS/O Cees give you an hour and 20 mins or so of adrenaline from beginning to end.

Dillinger would be another but they were notorious for great live shows but they are a smaller band.

Here are a few I would classify as "underappreciated" more than underrated:
    The Dream Syndicate
Dead Moon (but you have to be OK with lo-fi to appreciate them)
    Rain Parade
    Grin
    Mission of Burma
