Hey, does anyone have a epi g-310 sg or similar and have 11's strung on it? I think they come from the factory with 10's(?) and want to maybe go with 11's. Need to know if they fit in the nut and saddles before I buy them. Thanks.

Gibson or Epiphone, I assume Gibson. Is there much difference between the two models, i wonder?

mine's a gibson but the difference would be negligible as far as the nut and saddle dimensions.

i had an epiphone dot that i took to 11s with no problem as well.

You can generally use any guage of strings on a guitar as long as you do a proper setup. going from 9's to 10's should be no big deal. Going from 10's to 11's puts a lot more stress on the neck than going from 9's to 10's...so if you experience any wierd shit with your neck or fretboard after increasing the string guage, don't sweat it...you'll just need a truss rod adjustment.

The heavier the strings, the better the tone :)

ha ha killer. I just played a 200 dollar ridiculous sky blue painted Dot the other day with 11's and it was awesome. Glad you're happy.
My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.

I AGREE. 11's are great, but 12's can be good too.

I hate low-gauge strings with a passion, but I play a Squier with a floating bridge. It was a huge pain in the ass to switch to 10s, and they still don't feel big enough to be comfortable for me. I ought to just have it set up for me.
