Shut Out for Fenway After 26 Years in 10 Club
Ouch.
Got rejected for the Fenway Shows despite by 26 years in the 10 Club.
I know that seniority does not mean that tickets will be granted, but it still hurts to be shut out after so many years of fandom.
It's a pretty rotten feeling.

I mean, it sucks to miss out any time (although there's plenty of time between now and the dates to pick up tickets another way). No arguments there. But a new fan who only joined last year could be just as gutted. But of the shows listed in your sig, how many of them did you get tickets for through 10C? And what type of ticket were they?If you got even half of them (or any GA through them) I'd argue that the money spent over the years has been more than worth it myself.0

You'll be able to get a Fenway ticket without issue. Will it necessarily be in the pit/GA? That depends on how much time you want to spend on F2F. But there will be plenty of people around here with extras.

100% of those shows were through 10 Club. I know that I've been extremely fortunate. 10 Club has been worth every penny considering the impact the band, and the 25+ shows has had on my life.marra2312 said:I mean, it sucks to miss out any time (although there's plenty of time between now and the dates to pick up tickets another way). Totally agree that there will be a ton of tickets on F2F for Fenway. You'll get in.___________________________________________

A bit dramatic. First time being shut out in 26 years? I would call you exceptionally lucky. First time? You haven’t missed out on tickets in 25 years? Holy cow? Go play the lotto.0

Don't sleep on day-of ticket drops either. Scored seats about 20 rows back, center stage N1 2016 and in the turf section on Mike's side N2 2018.0

After all these 25 years, I am used to the battle for tickets. This was just the first hurdle. I empathize with you're situation - but I also can relate to the person only recently joining the 10-C who might not have been able to get into shows, and may have nailed a ticket in...maybe they haven't seen as many shows as all of us...give them a shot...expand the fan base...let this great american band permeate the world further...0

I disagree. 20 years ago you just got tickets. You didn't have to enter lotteries. And even when they started the lottery crap, it wasn't hand-in-hand with Ticketmaster.spankyMP said:After all these 25 years, I am used to the battle for tickets. This was just the first hurdle. What? This is totally false. You absolutely had to enter lotteries, it was just a different type of system, because it wasn't done online. The 2003 tour for Riot Act was an unusually easy access tour, as was the Canadian 2005. Because they were touring much more frequently playing all types of markets and regions. What happened is that more casual fans caught on to the TC tickets option and membership swelled. The combo of more members, less shows, and the access to shows for members has made the lottery more challenging, but it is much easier to get tickets now than ever before, with the exception of 2003 to 2006 if you were plugged in.Ledbetterman10 said:

Hard disagree that tickets are easier now than ever, for any band. Between all the presales and Verified Fan sales and premium tickets, Ticketmaster has way more latitude than ever to hoard the best seats.
It's rare to get a good ticket to a popular show for face value these days.
I guess it's "easier" in that you can pay for most shows on StubHub if you have the money, but I definitely miss the old days.

It was way easier to get tickets in 2008, 2009, and 2010 than it is now. This sort of lottery where you enter and prioritize various shows and seating arrangements didn't start until like 2013ish if I remember correctly.PB11041 said:

But yeah, less shows equals more demand, and there are way more tenclub members now, and likely not that many more seats reserved for tenclub members.2000: Camden 1, 2003: Philly, State College, Camden 1, MSG 2, Hershey, 2004: Reading, 2005: Philly, 2006: Camden 1, 2, East Rutherford 1, 2007: Lollapalooza, 2008: Camden 1, Washington D.C., MSG 1, 2, 2009: Philly 1, 2, 3, 4, 2010: Bristol, MSG 2, 2011: PJ20 1, 2, 2012: Made In America, 2013: Brooklyn 2, Philly 2, 2014: Denver, 2015: Global Citizen Festival, 2016: Philly 2, Fenway 1, 2018: Fenway 1, 2, 2021: Sea. I get almost everything at face value. Last year I went to like 10 concerts and the only one I didn’t pay face for was Metallica, because I decided to go after all my friends already had tickets and I jumped on good seats a little over face. Had I waited I would have paid below. foos, DMB, PJx2, pumpkins, phish, Tool (fan club presale) all at face value. None were a major pain. Foos was a fan to fan situation, so I even ended up with 3 in the pit night before the show. It’s all based on how much time you put into it. Used to be sweaty 8 hours f5ing, now it’s lottery, verified sale, look to upgrade in fan 2 fan. Maybe my wording is off, maybe I’m just seasoned and know what to expect, so it seems easier to me.Ryan_WFC said:Hard disagree that tickets are easier now than ever, for any band. Yea this fan to fan thing should be helpful for everyone. It’d be great to know what percentage of each venue is “platinum,” a complete load of bullshit. I wouldn’t worry about it.
