ten years ago, eddie vedder played a short run of solo shows alongside pearl jam headlining the 2014 big day out. just prior to his february 13 concert at the sydney opera house, i was asked to go backstage and record a short video message from eddie to michael chugg, who was celebrating his 50th year of concert promotion. me and peter sharp were extremely nervous heading into the dressing room, but eddie was disarmingly gracious and unnecessarily generous with his pre-show time. i snapped these few quick portrait frames just prior to rolling video. this week, pearl jam announced a world tour and dropped a smouldering lead single from their upcoming album, dark matter. can't wait to witness this awesome band in the flesh once more come november. @eddievedder @pearljam @sydneyoperahouse @michaelgchugg @peter_sharp_photographer @audioloveofficial @bigdayout #eddievedder #darkmatter #pearljam
