Went super quick. Actually all of the vinyl went quick. Even the clear fly one was gone when i tried.

This box set sold out way quicker than Facelift or Dirt. Wonder if they made less. By the time I saw them onsale the two color vinyl versions were sold out. I did get the box set though.

Yeah, I don’t know how I ended up with the idea they weren’t real flies, every single article I checked (5 or 6) all said they’re real flies, lol. I think it’s because they’re mostly referenced in quotes (“real flies”) and that misled me, lol.

the maker said it was surprisingly hard to track down dead flies. seems hard to believe.

The fly vinyl was manufactured by Indianapolis-based vinyl mavericks Romanus Records, who have a history with this sort of thing. Last year they released a maggot-filled vinyl album for local punk outfit Pat & The Pissers, while other records have been filled with sand, razor blades, Doritos, brick dust, leaves, marigold flowers, blood and scorpions. Romanus are also responsible for a lathe-cut limited edition for Nashville duo Volk made out of real snakeskin.

"Excited to announce Romanus Records are making these amazing bizarre beauties in conjunction with the good folks at Velvet Hammer Music and Management Group," says Romanus head honcho Chris Banta. "Filled with real dead flies. It was actually pretty difficult to get a hold of real dead flies. Absolutely iconic band, album, and more. Video and more behind the scenes content to come!"

Sadly, the fly-filled edition of Jar Of Flies, which is limited to just 150 copies and retails at $167, is already sold out.

I think you maybe spot on with making less. I noted AIC website had always been great international shipping prices even with a heavy large boxset. I have got 2 in the past one to open and play, one to keep... the collector in me. This time shipping was like so many other sites. So by the time we woke here in aus, clear fly vinyl and tri colour were sold out. I grabbed just 1 boxset. Can't frigging wait for this
