I miss you already, I miss you all day
b/c the reissues are better quality guitars. the studios are spartan, low-cost version.
and the one posted is custom shop made.
The most accurate reissue series Gibson's Custom Shop has ever produced!
AA flamed maple top is exactly the kind of wood that went on the Les Pauls in '59. Burstbucker 1 and 2 pickups are precision re-creations of original 'Patent Applied For" pickups, right down to the mismatched windings. Original bumblebee caps, long-tenon 1959 rounded neck profile, CTS pots, original aluminum stopbar, and tons of other details make it look, sound, and play identically to the original. Mahogany back and neck with rosewood fretboard.
Features:
Carved maple top
Solid mahogany back
One-piece mahogany neck with original-style truss rod routing and 1959 rounded neck profile
22-fret rosewood fretboard with historically accurate trapezoid inlays
Burstbucker 1 (rhythm) and 2 (treble) pickups
CTS pots and bumble bee caps
2 volume knobs, 2 tone knobs, and 3-way switch
Single-ply cream binding on top and fretboard
Nickel hardware
Aluminum stopbar
Original-style toggle switch washer and jackplate
Vintage tulip-style tuners
the studio $1200US
The arrival of the Les Paul Studio in 1983 offered guitarists all the essential elements of a Les Paul Standard, including a carved top and humbucking pickups, in a simple yet elegant design. It quickly became the most popular model in the Les Paul Series. Cutting-yet-rich tone -- the hallmark of the LP -- pours out of the 490R and 498T alnico magnet humbucker pickups mounted on a gorgeous carved maple top with a mahogany back. Rosewood fretboard with trapezoid inlays makes for great looks while dual volume and tone controls provide complete command of your sound.
Features:
Carved maple top and mahogany back
Mahogany neck, '59 Rounded Les Paul
Rosewood fingerboard
Tune-o-matic bridge with stopbar
Chrome or gold hardware
490R and 498T alnico magnet humbucker pickups
2 volume and 2 tone knobs, 3-way switch
attention to detail, quality of components and craftsmanship.
Remember my car analogy yesterday.
The Les Paul Studio is a Honda Civic.
The 59 RI Les Paul is a Rolls Royce.
yep yep
Drivers prefer Bently's , RR is for the back seat!

BJF powers my Pedal Board
Since this is a players guitar.
The Studio is a Honda Civic
The 59 RI is a Ferrari F1 car.
Much better
I would have used this:
Studio is a Aztek
59 RI is a Z06

yeah that would almost work especially the Z06 , but the studio isn't that ugly give it some credit.
I mean at least make it a basic vette or something. It's just a stripped down version of the same thing.
Yeah your right, the Aztek is one fulgy car. How about a Cimmaron and a STS hehehe
