I'm a good dozen listens into this song, and I really love the fact that I love it, and that I also know that this won't be the best song on the album.  I really like what Watt brought out of the band here, and I think this will be indicative of what's still to come on the album.  There's a lot of nostalgia going on here, especially with Ed's vocal delivery.  I like where he is in the mix.  I love the groove-- the drums, bass, and guitar driving the song.  Eddie pushes himself and nails it.  Bridge is great, solo is killer.  Love the chorus, that's going to translate very well live.  I really liked Gigaton, and Quick Escape and DOTC were my favorites from that one.  It seems like this album is going to pick up where those left off.  I'm grateful for this band's whole catalog and will always respect their choices with regards to production and who they choose to produce them, even if not all of it totally resonates with me.  But I am very hopeful that what they are doing here is almost exactly what I would have them doing if I had some choice in their artistic direction.  I'm very excited for Dark Matter, the album!
  • ^ agree completely- and check out the instrumental version too- starts with some harmonies from Ed, and there’s some really cool shit in the mix- the you are esque reverb thing and I think I hear some synths in left channel too

Pleasantly surprised with this tune. I thought the Earthling album was lackluster at best, but this is exactly what I was hoping for.

I’m sure it will grow on me and be listenable in the context of an album but probably their worst lead single. Reading alot of hand wringing on some fairly objective aspects of the song.

New tune is ok.  May take a few listens.  Certainly some cool stuff going on.  I was worried about a "going back to our roots" record but I don't hear a ton of that here.  Middle of the road for me.  Could sound cool live.

song is solid.  Ed’s lyrics are muffled which can detract from the overall power of the song.  I love the sound and energy.  It would be a top 4 track on gigaton or lightning bolt, so that’s a positive.  There’s a lot to like.  When i read the lyrics I like them, but I wish they were more discernible to the listener…you’ve got something passionate to say, let the listener hear it without googling it!

  • Hearing the Atmos mix now - I prefer it to the stereo one I think. Ed doesn’t sound like he’s singing through blankets.

I'm not feeling it either. Waited so long for this. I'm sure it will fit better when I hear the entire album. I've had no desire to listen to it this morning at work after listening last night.

Agree. The fact that I can't understand most of what he's saying hurts it.

It took me a couple of listens to "get" the groove, but once I played it a few times, I think its really solid. That solo, the drums and ed's "Everybody else pays, for someone else's mistake" parts are great.   Love it.

This can’t be right??? For both the red/black and clear. Shipping is $2.58 less than the actual albums??? Come on $83.41 US for shipping!!!

I stopped buying from the ten club shop because the shipping prices have become so insane...and Seattle is only 700 miles from me.  It adds like $20 to a single poster
