The beginning of 9th grade for me-- remember most of those on the radio..at some point.

Use Your Illusion II should be on top of that stack, though.. as the king of that stack!

    Yes, 100%!!
They are ALMOST arranged in the order they were released...with two of the final three coming out on the same day!  Badmotorfinger was also supposed to come out on 9/24/91, but production was delayed.  1991 was a fabulous year for music and not just because TEN was released.  I actually taught a college writing course with the music of 1991 as the subject of the course.  One of the most enjoyable moments of my teaching career.

As much as I love every one of those albums, if I could only pick one, at this point in my life, it would be Badmotorfinger.

For the majority of time since then I would have said Ten.  When they first released, it was GnR.

That was the argument I presented to students in the class I taught, but I expanded it to "music's greatest year." Choose any genre and there were some monumental releases in 1991.  Expand your thinking a little further - what was being recorded in 1991 and came out a year later.  When I presented my course idea to my institutional colleagues (new courses have to be approved by the full faculty), one veteran professor declared: "You are off by 20 years!"  He did/still does have a valid argument for 1971.  Look it up or better yet, read: Never A Dull Moment: 1971 - The Year That Rock Exploded.  I doubt anyone will ever have a valid argument for 2011.
