This is done on a lap steel guitar isn't it? I've always loved this song but could never get that beautiful sustain Dave gets on it. Then I saw on my Gilmour DVD he uses a lap steel for part of Shine on You crazy Diamond and figured that's what he uses.

    I read somewhere that the longest he has ever sustained a note is in Marooned... he was really happy with that instrumental.

    yeah I think I read an article about that in some guitar magazine. I can get the sustain for OBC but not the tone. When I saw the Gilmour and DSotM DVD's and saw him use the lap steel I figured that's how he got that sound
