You're playing your guitar (or whatever you play) and you come up with something and think 'wow this is fucking great!!!!' Then a day or so later when you're playing it in your head it suddenly hits you it's basically an unintentional rip off of another song?

    yes, but most new riffs are ripoffs, when you find and individual tone or style that's where you are unique. You can play the same notes but the emotion, feeling and texture you add make them your own.
    My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.
  • I mostly play something cool and the next day it has turned from being cool to being total crap, in my head anyway. Or it does indeed turns out to be a rip-off, when someone else comes to you ans says: I'm sure I've heard that before...
