shared ride to United Center from downtown Chicago?

Hey everyone,  my girlfriend and I are staying near the theatre district for both Chicago shows and we are looking for anyone staying near us that would maybe like to share cabs to and from the venue.   I've been looking up the best ways to get there and I've read a lot about the surrounding area of the United Centre being a bit dangerous -   walking from the pink line stop especially at night.   We will be going to the venue on the morning of each show for a poster as well.   Can anyone who knows the area please provide some advice?
