SiriusXM will air the show at 6pm & 9pm EST on channel 22. At 9pm EST the digital download & CD purchase will be available over @ nugs.net & the 10Club store.
  • Don’t think they’re airing Chicag N1 yet? Unless the PJ radio on the bands website is different from Sirius XM?

It's probably been asked before, but which sound format is the best to buy if I am just downloading these and listening through Apple Music? I have been doing MP3 because I figured that's the best I will get out of that app.

Best you can do via Apple Music would be to buy the ALAC-HD version.

What do you notice in difference between that vs. ALAC vs. mp3?  Do you need a high end audiophile setup to notice?

I mean the answer to this would be: it depends. If you're using your phone without any hifi equipment (be that decent headphones, a DAC, etc, that stuff) then mp3 will suffice. And ultimately it depends on the quality of the original recording. Some boots have been worth the FLAC-/ALAC-HD purchase to me over others, and I usually buy the FLAC-HD version of the boots.

But the original question was what's the best quality to get through Apple Music, and that would be the ALAC-HD option.

And for me, personally, you can absolutely hear the quality difference between mp3 and FLAC/ALAC when using the right equipment.

Thank you.  I have been buying FLAC/ALAC and listening with good headphones but not sure If my ears are good enough to warrant the HD purchase.
  • Last years’ bootlegs in ALACHD were absolutely incredible.

To the person that said the XM broadcast was muddy….I heard Chicago 1 on my way home, the bass is overpowering. My ears are fucked a bit from COVID, but still thought it was A LOT.

The thing I like about the boots is the chit chat between songs. For instance, before busting out Severed Hand Ed mentioned DMT and maybe doing more research before using. I appreciated his warnings, like starting with small amounts, especially with the opioid/fentanyl/killer benzo mix crisis.

Yeah, echoey or something - like the instruments weren't coming from the soundboard but instead the back of the room.

And yeah I didn't know if part of it is the bad sound quality of XM in the car.

They're just about to play Come Back. Ed's adjusting the lights for optimal, indelible fucking.

Thanks for the reminder, D 💋.

I'm guessing the loss of Ben is why Benaroya is coming up... 😢

If I don't fall apart, will my memory stay clear?

Anyone else listening along right now? It's nice to hear Josh jump in when Ed needs a hand. But when Ed doesn't hit those notes, it's like a little piece of my heart is being chipped away and flushed down the drain.

I don’t currently have Sirius so I’m waiting for it to go up in the shop, but I know what you mean.  😔…Oh to be young again.
