Hmm, that sucks, its only 50 bucks more, now for 649.00, but i was all set, ready to buyit and they jacked the price up, now im wondering if its gonna continue to go up, i can buy it now, but then wont have much money left, well i will..but i should probably just bank some money...

is there any reason why i should defintely buy it? or vice versa?

i imagine the next price bump wouldn't come until a year from now but who knows with them.

are you ordering or have you found one locally?

i've heard of negative feedback on the fretwork in that the finishing isn't very good and some of them need a good fret dressing before they're ready to go. but this is secondhand information.

ya imn reading all the harmony central reviews...

everything ive heard is about the action and the finish.

action i can fix, finish..well...its suppose tobe i suppose.

im not sure what im gonna do, im starting to look at regular gibson sg specials. im heading out cshopping locally this afternoon, so ill see what i can get.

i thought the gaded specials were too good of a deal to pass up so i didnt think twice about it, but now im having second thoughts...
  • I guess it's preference but I really think the fade finish takes alot away from the look of the guitar.

I saw one up close in my local music store last week and was tottally turned off.

I say save up for 3 years or so and get that 62 strat :)

ive already got a reisue 62 strat (ya, not the originaly, but still kicks ass, looks greatk feels great, and sounds amazing)

i just sold my epi les paul standard so now im ready to replace that with an SG...

not sure if i should loook at the regular specails that are around 800 or not....

i heard guitar center are carrying gibsons again, so hopefully there will be something there
  • I was JUST in a music store yesterday and played a ton of guitars.
They had 4 or 5 faded sg's and they were all different. The fretwork wasn't all that great on them, but fixable. One was about perfect, the others were varied. A couple of them had loose hardware. Nothing insurmountable, but it's a drag to have to do fretwork on a brand new guitar. If you're near a big store, try a few if you can. look hard at the edges of the frets and look for loose ones sticking up. Maybe make a deal that they set it up and dress the frets. To tell you the truth, I don't think they looked all that great.

I haven't been looking at new stuff for a while, but i kindof like the epiphone guitars. I never thought I'd say that!
I'm looking for a Broadway or a Regent now.

so ya, ijust went to a gutiar center. tooka look at the SG faded, and yea..it doesnt look that great at all! i only saw the cherry one, and that always looked color int he picture, so im thinking the brown one iwatned wont look as cool in person either. that aside, iplayed an sg special, 845$ and it was great. felt great, looked great...

went ot purchase it,a nd my card got denied, how fuckign embarrasing. but ihave the money, so i think i passed a limmit on the debit card. so now i might go back and just use a check...hopefully that works
