Pinkpop 2000 afternoon slot

Was just watching the Foo Fighters set at Glastonbury during the early evening and reminded me of PJ playing afternoon at PP2000, was there a specific reason for that? Considering how actually big they were/are for festivals.

I'm surprised PJ hasn't played Glastonbury yet. Although Elton played it for the first time this year

Actually it is pretty weird. Looks like they were billed below Moby and Live. Hardly headliner material in 2000. Also they had a day off the next day, so it can't really be a matter of having to play an earlier slot in order to make it to the next show in time.

Maybe they just wanted to play in the daylight, like they did back in 1992.

  • This was my first PJ gig, and it was amazing (eventhough I would have loved to see them close).

Regarding the linup, Live and Moby were extremely popular in the Netherlands at that time. I think album sales were impacting the lineup order.  Both their "the distance to here" and "Play" albums were in the Dutch charts for 82 and 101 weeks respectively. Comparitively, Yield only charted for 14 weeks

Such a conceded ass as if they invented happy music! And they both have such big egos I’m surprised they both could fit on a stage no wonder they imploded, yet PJ a band of 5 different personalities has managed to just keep moving forward..

Must be because of all the flags waving around. How can you enjoy a concert if all you are seeing are poles & flags in your face the whole day? It kinda sucks!

  • Pinkpop is an amazing festival. Saw PJ and offspring there in 2018.

It was almost 22:30 when it got actually dark. Took the train from amsterdam. On the way back, there was no train from eindhoven to amsterdam for like 8 hours so got an uber to amsterdam. It was only like 80 miles. It is so good to live in "small" countries, everything is near.

Wish PJ played rock in rio. There is always rumours but it never happens.
