Keep the last weekend of September open. PJ will be playing ACL this year. I had a drink with the primary organizer of the event last night.
Got an army, fact I got two. That's ok man, cause I love money!

  • ACL is September 26-28. There are a lot of people claiming to be able to bank on PJ as the Sunday headliner--some here in Austin. Some even claim Austin City Limits show is also booked. The guy above in this thread does not even mention the beerslingers name so I am not on board. However, I already have my ticket and if you are wondering yes the three-day passes sell out about two months in advance. The ticket prices also go up as the shows get closer so if this is teh news this week I would suggest buying early.

  • acl fest is always awesome no matter what. if you can go, then go. regardless if pj is playing.
    mean people suck!
    but nice people sw****w

  • Awesome, just as I start *really* getting into PJ and start wishing I could see them live, they're gonna show up 5 miles from my apartment at ACL!

Rhino are you going to ACL? I know that you were thinking about it before. I think that I'm only going to go if there are no other southern shows this year- who am I kidding, I'm going!

ACLFest is much more likely than Bonnaroo for us. My wife started a new job in Jan and I started mine this month. Money has been a big issue as of late. ACLFest would be a reasonable target if we get a few months notice.

However, if there's any semblance of tour dates this summer, we'll have to consider that as well.

I understand. I was trying to figure out how much money we'd need for Bonnaroo and it's a little more procey than I originally thought-oh well, I still can't wait!

Bring it on! I'm tired of having to fly to see them every year. I just want to see PJ and sleep in my own bed, all in the same day. Haven't gotten to do that in 5 years.

Sorry that you fail to see the enthusiasm of some of us in the Pearl Jam community to visit Austin.

We'll try to keep the noise down for you natives.

  • FYI...the ACL lineup will be announced April 15th this year, a month earlier than last year. Since there's been some speculation about PJ playing there, I wanted to include it.

Ususally ACL gives hints about the bands & headliners 2-3 weeks before the official lineup is announced. Who knows? Maybe PJ does hit the South this year...fingers crossed of course.

The names I keep hearing thrown around for ACL are PJ and Neil Young... maybe the tweet is a PJ/NY co-headlining tour? Mirror Ball performed in its entirety perhaps?

I'm totally making all of this stuff up of course, just fun speculation. Except for the rumors of PJ & Neil both being at ACL.

If they play ACLFest this year, I don't think it will be part of a multi-city swing.

My guess is that the Pearl Jam tour happens in June/July, with some random appearances a little later (political leanings, ACLFest, one-offs...)

It's not that I fail to see your or anybodys enthusiasm, the only point I was making is that the ACL Fest has been going on since 2001 and it is full every year no matter who is playing. It is not our first rodeo was the point I was trying to make.

I would LOVE it if Pearl Jam plays this year and will be VERY excited when and if they annouce it. If you come, enoy our great city and then you can see for yourself that the south doesn't suck like some of the idiots on this board have said in the past, out of ignorance.

Because Houston sucks, Dallas all the way!

jk of course, I hope we both get shows, that way no one from Houston ruins my chances of seeing them in Dallas, hahaha, my plan is in place.
My god its been so long, never dreamed we'd return.
