What to do in Montreal

in All Encompassing Trip
So I am going to be up in Montreal in a couple weeks.  My wife is going for work and I am just tagging along but will be mostly by myself all day.  Just looking for recommendations of places to go, laces to eat, record stores etc.  I am already eyeing going to Cheap thrills since it isnt far from where we are staying but I always enjoy exploring record stores.  We are staying at the Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth but I guess public transportation is pretty easy.
Any recommendations are appreciated
