how do i know which ones are truly modded by keeley?
Im thinking about getting one and adding it to my board, i found the sweet spot on my amp last night!!!(yes, it took quite a long time) at least with the strat, and im thinking id like to get a keeley ts mod as ive heard NOTHING but good things, and will go nicely with my shannon od's
also will most likely getting an mxr dynacomp as the bos cs 2 is going on me, and frankly..the less knobs the better for me....

They have the little blue sticker. They also sound a lot better They will sound pretty close to the Shannons but if it goes the way every other keeley I've owned goes it will be brighter.

im thinking about grabbing that one. nothing beats a tube screamer, the shannons are amazing, but nothing beats a tube screamer in my opinion, and with a keeley mod....i think ill be golden...
or its just my new obsession!
looks good, great price too. The TS9's + modded are a little cheaper.
also check out http://www.analogman.com before you decide

search ebay for analogman.
honestly, those 808 reissues are shit to start off with. the regular TS9 is a better foundation.
true, but having that on my pedal board would look alot cooler:)
although...

thanks greg...
any comparison you have between analogman and keeley?or is it pretty much a sure bet either one?
Keeley prefers the 4558P TI chip over the 4558D JRC chips.

I think analogman prefers the more true to vintage sound, he attempts to nail the tone of the original TS808 which he feels is the perfect TS tone. Keeley is converting to 808 specs and attempting to "improve" hot rod the sound.
apples, oranges. If you get analogmans get the silver. The baked might suit you from Keeley because you have 2 shannons with JRC4558D chips just don't expect the baked to clean up it's a screamer.
He has a few "freak" mods every now and then that come up as well.
There are so many Tubescreamer and Tubescreamer Only Better options out there... I think Keeley's TS work is amazing, and I couldn't be happier. I just set the tone at about 1 o'clock and adjust the gain to taste, it's gorgeous. And I tend to agree with Keeley, I love the TI chips.
I'd still love to try out a Bad Monkey for about a week.
