Will the 2023 Tour be considered a "Gigaton Tour" or not?

JojoRiceJojoRice Posts: 4,204
Even though we are still a few months away from September, will the shows be considered part of the Gigaton Tour like last year or will these shows be more like the 2016 tour where they weren't promoting an album? By the time the tour starts, it'll be 3.5 years since Gigaton's release.  Obviously covid put a wrinkle in the original Gigaton tour but what do yall think?

I think slightly less ( take the long way, never destination, buckle up, alright, river cross) about the same on Who ever said, superblood, DOTC, Quick Escape, 7 o'clock, retrograde

Maybe dust off No Way, Marker, Tremor Christ...at least I hope

Not officially, but they'll still be heavy on Gigaton since they haven't played a lot of these areas since it came out.

If I were the band, I would still want to play these new songs more.  You have a short tour that sold out instantly - you know you are playing to your die hard fans.  I'm hoping for lots Gigaton but wouldn't surprise me if they only play 3-4 songs/night from this album with the shorter setlists

I'm thinking it will be the Gigabit tour.

I’m hoping for minimal Gigaton. Still can’t get into this album but maybe hearing some of it live will change my opinion 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yeah not a fan. I like DOTC and Buckle Up and already got those in Nashville. Hope to hear some rarities like 2016.

Ya but the artwork last year had a Gigaton promotion on it. This year's doesn't.

Skip the gigaton songs and play from Binaural and Riot Act.

I don't really care what they play.  It's all good to me.

There were shows last year that were far from Gigaton tour shows.
  • Some of the tracks work really well live, I hope they stick around. I hope this tour we get more 2000s stuff, last year it was as though their career ended with Yield.

At MoPop the other week when they played the 8/10/18 show, I had forgotten Brain of J was the third (fourth?) song, when it came on, I thought “ah, back when they’d bust out something which wasn’t a hit”, but it’s weird to talk about 2018 like it was “back in the old days…”

30-35 song sets you could play half a new album and not have it dominate the show. Now not so much with them playing 10 songs less a night.

I am hoping for a 2016 style set myself.
