Wondering if any natives could suggest best hotel,transportation,close to venue. It'll be my first time in the city since 2010.

    There are busses and rideshare outside of the UC. Rideshare will be challenging after a show, though. Some EL stations are nearby/walkable but stick with a group after the show if taking the EL is necessary. For hotels, whatever is in your price range in the West Loop. The Hoxton is nice but $$$. If you want to be closer to the park or Mag Mile or something like that, then there are plenty of options.
