Something wonky is happening - new post appearance disappearing

Just today I'm finding that when I first go into a category, everything looks fine - I can tell which threads have new posts, which don't. But once I go into any thread and then back out to the category page again, every single thread in the category suddenly appears as fully read. And it stays that way, even when I leave the category and go back in. Weird. Can you please have a look into it?

    Same here. Ten threads with the yellow new posts indicator, open one and read it, the other nine flip to the gray no new posts indication when I close out of it and return to the first category page. I thought it was just me and I'm all thumbs when it comes to interwebbery.

    It seems like Lost Dogs is working as expected now but The Porch and Other Music are still having the issue. These are the ones I mainly use.

    Is there a way to stop seeing the New flag for threads? Or is there some sort of info on how the feature works? Like how does the system determine which threads to show me a flag for?
