Trump has the authority to authorize a 90 day stay.  That was in the legislation.  So the EO he writes tomorrow does have the effect of putting it back online, and within the law. But then there has to be a group to whom Bytedance will sell.  So far they have been unwilling to entertain any offer, which makes one think that the CCP is moving behind the scenes.  If this was purely a capitalist organization, it should be for sale.  Everything is for sale.

If it was I’d be thrilled with that. I have no particular animosity to TT, I just don’t want our data going there. And meta taking it is much better than Musk. 

In a proper DOJ world, there’s no way that either Meta or X should be able to buy that platform. It should violate anti-trust laws. But I’m not confident how this administration would enforce those types of laws.
