The Harvey Mandel Thread

Due to a lot of concern for one of my most beloved guitarists, Harvey Mandel, I've been listening to a lot his records lately.  Harvey is suffering from cancer and on top of that, he broke a finger a while back, affecting his ability to play.  I'm sending out good thoughts for Harvey pretty much every day now.

If you haven't heard this man play or are not familiar with his stuff and you love great guitar music, at the very least, check out his album, Cristo Redentor:
I'll be the first to admit I'm not a big fan of the title track (first song, first side).  But other than that, this is a killer album.  And side two is especially remarkable- pure guitar bliss to these ears.  Every one of the many times I've listened to side two of this record, I'm in music heaven.

Another great Harvey record is Baby Batter with its great vibe, from mellow jams to blistering guitar outings, this is another big winner in my book:

I hope some of you get a chance to experience Harvey's music.  And if you love it half as much as I do, maybe send out some good thoughts for Harvey (and I would humbly mention there is a GoFundMe out there to help the man out.  He has never been paid his due. Thanks.)

Harvey is back and that is pure joy to my soul.  Harvey has been fighting off cancer for years now.  He's struggled hugely, but he's back!
