I can't play "Down"!

I'm still a fairly new guitarist, but can play a good number of PJ and other group's songs.
I cannot for the life of me learn Down. It should be a relatively easy song. The tabs are fairly simple, and it doesn't sound hard. I just can't make it sound right. Any suggestions? I love this song and would kill to be able to play it.

just keep listening to the strumming pattern over and over and over and over.

it will eventually click. i dont know what else to tell you. keep practicing.

  • Well ...

    If you can play Corduroy,
and you can play Over The Hills & Far Away by Zeppelin
All you gotta do really is sandwich the two togeather,
    and you have Down.

    G G ... Cadd9 X3 G\B (b in the bass) G Cadd9

Over the hills and far away riff,
    repeaat.

if you understand what the hell i'm trying to stay,
    you're a geneius.

    Oops,
off to an AutoCadd class for me.
If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?
  • It's a funky rhythm, with a few riffs, and some steps.

Learn the chords, then learn how to funk it up.
...and if you don't like it, you can suck on an egg.

Keep listening, keep playing and you'll get it.

I can play it BUT when I try and sing and play it...I ALWAYS mess up the rhythm. It frustrates me, but oh well.

I never thought of it that way. It totally sounds like those two songs together. But yeah, just keep plugging away at it. Try to focus on one part at a time and just keep going over it in segments
